Scottish Highland Tours – Discover the remote West Coast Peninsula
The most westerly point of the British mainland: this relaxing day tour takes us across the Corran Ferry, away from busy main roads and hectic lifestyles and onto the remote west coast peninsula.
Here we become accustomed to single track roads, haunting glens, great lochs and everyday Highland wildlife.
Travelling through the ancient extinct volcano we finally arrive at the working Stevenson lighthouse and tearoom – the most westerly point in the United Kingdom. Here you can visit the lighthouse exhibition, walk about the rocks and marvel at the fantastic views all around you, or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet – because we still have the return journey to go.
On the return journey we travel along another direction where you can walk out on the sand to Castle Tioram, on its own own island, the ancestral seat of Clan Ranald.
Back on the road again, and we stop at Glenfinnan and Loch Shiel, famed for Bonnie Prince Charlie and the 1745 Uprising, Harry Potter and many block-busting movies, before returning home.
This is a full day tour.
