Scottish Highland Tours – Discover Oban, Inveraray & Glencoe
This is a very scenic tour, leaving Fort William heading south along Loch Linnhe and Loch Leven, passing small highland villages on the way to Ballachulish, with its historic slate quarry.
Surrounded by truly breathtaking scenery and passing the site of the Appin Murder, on which Robert Louis Stevenson’s book ‘Kidnapped’ was based.
Travelling along the coast through Appin and Duror we come to the magnificent Castle Stalker, built on its own island. We then journey to the mighty Dunstaffnage Castle, arriving around mid-morning in the picturesque town of Oban, Gateway to the Isle’s.
After spending some time in Oban, we move on to Inveraray, travelling through spectacular mountains and scenery. In Inveraray you can sample life in the 19th Century jail or visit the impressive Castle of the Dukes of Argyll and Clan Campbell.
On the return journey, we travel across the spectacular and remote “Rannoch Moor” and into the Highlands most infamous glen “Glencoe”, through Ballachulish and Loch Leven on to Fort William, following the shores of Loch Linnhe.
Please note this is a full-day tour, with plenty of stops throughout the day.
