Scottish Highland Tours - Discover the Great Glen & Inverness

Leaving Fort William on this highland tour, we pass through Spean Bridge, Clan Lands and Commando country and into the Great Glen, carved out by the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. Where the mountains meet the three lochs, each loch is completely different to the others.

Our journey takes us alongside Loch Lochy (The Battle of the Shirts), Loch Oich (The Well of the Seven Heads) smallest of the three lochs and very peaceful.

We travel to Invergarry, and on to Fort Augustus, following and crossing the Caledonian Canal as we go.

From here we travel alongside the world famous Loch Ness, and the chance to look for (Nessie) the Loch Ness monster, before Castle Urquhart.

As we travel through the City of Inverness, Capital of the Highlands, which stands on the banks of the River Ness and the Moray Firth on the way to Culloden Moor and Cawdor Castle (time permitting).

The homeward journey takes us on the east side of Loch Ness by the old military road, originally built in the 1700s, through remote glens and magical mountain scenery.
