Scottish Highland Tours – Discover the Isle of Skye
We begin our Day Tour from Fort William early today as we travel to Glenfinnan – Bonnie Prince Charlie and Harry Potter country – onto Lochailort, Arisaig and Morar, with magnificent views of the Inner Isle’s of Eigg and Rum, as we make our way to the port of Mallaig, where we board the car ferry to the Isle of Skye.
On the Isle of Skye you can visit the Clan Donald Heritage and Visitor Centre, with the Museum of the Isles, and ruins of Armadale Castle with the wonderfull landscaped Gardens, before crossing the island to the small village of Broadford.
We journey through the island, passing the mighty Red and Black Cuillin Mountains and the only malt whisky distillery on the island, ‘Talisker Distillery’ (option) with Dunvegan Castle as a secondary option, time permitting.
We travel to Portree, the largest town and capital on the Island, with its sheltered inland harbour, seafood restaurants and highland shops arriving around lunchtime
Our journey continues along the coast, with sea views to the islands of Raasay and Scalpay on the way to Kyleakin and the impressive Skye Bridge, with fabulous views all around, as we cross over to Kyle of Lochalsh and onto Eilean Donan Castle, Glen Shiel, Invergarry and the Great Glen on the way back home. A really great Highland Day Tour.
This is a Full Day Tour.
