Scottish Highland Tours - Discover Fort William & Glenfinnan

view tour gallery

Our first visit on this Highland Tour has to be Glen Nevis, nestling beneath the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis. Glen Nevis is one of the most scenic glens in the Highlands, and is where many films, including Braveheart, Rob Roy, Harry Potter, and Highlander, have been made.

Just outside Fort William, we visit our very own 13th century Inverlochy Castle, and optionally the Ben Nevis Distillery or the Gondola cable car at the Nevis Mountain Range, on the way to the village of Spean Bridge.

Just beyond Spean Bridge is the evocative Commando Monument, with magnificent panoramic views of the Nevis Mountain range.

We then make our way across the Great Glen to Clan Cameron land - Achnacarry, the hiding places of Bonnie Prince Charlie, and Second World War Commando training country - you can visit the museum or just be amazed at the fantastic scenery as we touch Loch Arkaig and Loch Lochy, then following the Caledonian Canal and the Road to the Isles to historic Glenfinnan, and Loch Shiel.

We return by single-track road, across Loch Linnhe for a different view of Ben Nevis and Fort William, boarding the car ferry at Corran and Ardgour to travel back home.

This tour has options:

  • To include Glencoe and Kinlochleven, add one and a half hours.
  • If you want to visit the Ben Nevis Distillery, advanced booking is required.
