This is a very scenic tour, leaving Fort William and heading
south to Ballachulish with its historic slate quarry, surrounded
by truly breathtaking scenery and passing the site of the
Appin Murder, on which Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Kidnapped'
was based.
Travelling along the coast through Appin and Duror we come
to the magnificent Castle Stalker, on its own island, arriving
around mid-morning in the picturesque town of Oban, overlooked
by McCaig's Folly.
Beyond Oban we head for Inverary through spectacular mountains.
In Inverary you can sample life in the 19th Century jail or
see the fabulous Castle.
Heading for home, we pass across the awesome and remote Rannoch
Moor and down through Majestic Glencoe, back through Ballachulish
and on to Fort William, following the shores of Loch Linnhe.
Please note this is a full-day tour - about 9 to 10 hours
long.
