In Fort William, we visit our
very own 13th century castle at Inverlochy, and optionally
the Ben Nevis distillery and the mountain cable car at the
Nevis Range, on the way to the village of Spean Bridge.
Just beyond Spean Bridge is the evocative Commando Monument,
with magnificent panoramic views.
We then make our way across the Great Glen to Clan Cameron
land - Achnacarry, the hiding places of Bonnie Prince Charlie,
and Second World War Commando training country - you can visit
the museum or just be amazed at the scenery as we touch Loch
Arkaig, then follow the Caledonian Canal and the Road to the
Isles to stunning Glenfinnan and Loch Shiel.
We return by a single-track road and round the far side of
Loch Linnhe for a different view of Ben Nevis and Fort William,
on to the Corran Ferry and then back home.
This tour has options:
• To include Glencoe and Kinlochleven,
add
one and a half hours.
• If you want to visit
the Ben Nevis Distillery, advanced
booking is required. |
